What is Anosognosia?
Anosognosia is damage to the brain that prevents a person from recognizing their own illness. It is a common symptom of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and one of the biggest reasons why people who need treatment, refuse treatment, thus creating a very challenging situation for caregivers and family members.
This site aims to provide resources around anosognosia and the different options caregivers have to help their loved ones get help.
